Registration

 

1. How do I register?

You can register online here.

 

2. How can I make payment?

After you have completed registration, online payment can be made with VISA and MasterCard. All applicable taxes are included in the pricing.

 

3. Do I need to register again if I have registered my interest prior to the start of online registration?

For those participants who have registered your interest, we will send you an email to complete the sign up and payment. You do not need to sign up through the event portal again.

 

4. How much are the registration fees? Will there be any early bird discount?

5. Can I make changes to my personal particulars after submitting my registration?

Please send us an email at info@ideas-room.com. Participants can proceed to make any change before the deadline on 28 Feb 2025.

 

6. Why is it that I have not received my confirmation slip despite registering and making payment?

There could be several reasons:

  • Your registration was not successful

  • The confirmation slip might have been diverted to the “Junk” folder

  • The email has been blocked by your mail server and / or treated as spam

  • There might have been an error in your email address

Please allow at least 3 - 5 working days for us to get back to you.

 

7. Do I need to fill up any relevant indemnity declaration form and require parental/guardian consent if I’m below the age of 18?

Yes, participants below the age of 18 and above 4 are required to seek parental/guardian consent. They would need to acknowledge during the registration steps during registration, failing which, the Organiser reserves the right to refuse race entry to the participant.

 

8. Can I transfer my registration to another person?

No. Race entries are strictly non-transferable. All registered participant's personal details such as medical condition are tagged to the race entry and competing on behalf of the registered participant is not permitted. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify the race entry and/or refuse entry into the start pen for transferred race entry.

 

9. Is the payment gateway secure?

Yes. Our site is SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) coded, a security protocol that is used and reflected by HTTP Secure (https) in the website address to represent a secure connection.

 

10. Do I get a refund if I choose not to participate after registration?

No. All race entries are strictly non-refundable upon payment.

 

11. How will I know if my entry has been accepted?

You will receive a confirmation slip upon your successful registration. Successful applicants will also be able to login here to print out your race confirmation slip.

About the Race

 

1. When will Run For Light 2025 be held?

12 April 2025, Saturday. 

 

2. Where will the run be held?

Singapore Marina Barrage.

 

3. Will there be a Finisher Medal given out to participants?

A finisher medal will be given out to participants who have completed the run.

 

4. How many race categories are there?

There is only one competitive race category, the 10km Individual OPEN. The other category is the non-competitive 5km fun run and 1km blindfold walk.

 

5. What is the minimum age to participate in the Run For Light 2025?

The minimum sign up age for 1KM blindfold walk and 5KM fun run is 8-year-old. Kids of this age must be accompanied by an adult who must be aged 18 and above. For 10KM competitive run, only those who are aged 14-year-old and above are allowed.

6. What time does the race start?

More details will be provided soon.

 

7. Will there be an official photographer?

Yes.

 

8. Can I skate or cycle during the race instead?

No.

 

9. Can I bring along my pets?

You cannot bring along your pets during the run.

 

10. Is there baggage service during the run?

Yes. There will be baggage service at the event race village.

 

11. What is a Race Pack?

It is a pack containing necessary items for your race. This includes your race identifier, and your race entitlement.

 

12. How will my race timing be recorded?

A timing system will capture the race timing for each of the participants for the 10km OPEN only.

 

13. What if I am injured during the run or otherwise unable to finish the run?

First aiders will be deployed along the route. Participants who are in need of immediate attention can alert the route marshals.

 

14. Is there a cut-off time for the Run For Light 2025?

Yes, For 5km which is a non-timed category, the cut-off time is one and half hour and for 10km which is a timed category, the cut-off time is two hours.

15. I understand the 1KM blindfold walk involves two persons to a team. I have not participated in the blindfold walk before, how do we do it?

As this walk involves two persons in a team, a blindfold then will be given to each team. On day of event, one person will be blindfolded while the other member of the team who is sighted will assist him or her during the walk. At half-way mark, the role will be switched for the return leg.

 

16. I can’t run but I am keen to participate. Can I walk?

Of course, you can walk or run at your own leisure pace.  The 5KM is a fun run category and even for the competitive 10KM category, walking is still allowed too.  The key is to have fun and enjoy the activities.  Everyone is a winner once they cross the finish line.

17. Is 5KM Fun Run category a timed race?

No, there is no timing for 5KM which is a fun run category. Race bib for this category without timing chip will be given.  Timing chip for 10KM bib, which is a competitive race is given.  

 

18. Must I complete before I get a race medal?

Yes, participate in our physical event be it 1KM blindfold walk, 5KM or 10KM run and upon crossing the finish line, a race medal will then be presented.

19. How do I get my race entitlement?

All race entitlements to be collected during the Race Entitlement Pack Collection (REPC).

20. Is Run For Light a charity run event?

No, the annual Run  For Light (RFL) is not a charity run event from our inception but as part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR), we have always been supporting Guide Dogs Singapore Ltd (GDS), a registered charity organisation in Singapore through raising public awareness of the multiple challenges visually impaired people encounter in their daily lives and the important roles of trained guide dogs for its blind handlers on our social media platform and on-site event.  RFL aims to play a part to make our community that fills with empathy and compassion for the less privileged ones.
